To Mr. Mark Guggenheim:

TERRIBLE, cuzzin.  IGN's review said it best: "Why does this book have a reason to exist?"  It doesn't, cuz.  Seriously, cuz.  Blindfold, Wolfcub, and Dust are all extremely uncharacteristic, cuz!

And....

NO MORE MUTANTS!!!!!!!!!  Cuz, you can't go around creating new mutant characters after M-Day.  The forced introduction of a character like Ink into a comic universe where mutants are supposed to be endangered is a blatant slap in the face to Bendis, Brubaker, Carey, and all the other writers working to make the X-Men as great as it can possible be, cuz.  Young X-Men is a huge let down, and I feel perfectly safe saying that after one issue, cuz.  I don't feel as if I'm being unfair in saying so, cuz.  I hope the rest of the New X-Men show up in the other titles, cuz.

There's my two cents, cuz.  Or do you mind if I call you bub?

So I've read the first issue and I'm not too thrilled with it all.  First I gotta ask what was wrong with the New X-Men that they had to cancel it.  Great stories.  Great characters.  We just had SO many revelations about them.  Prodigy got his smarts back!  Elixir had issues with his new knowledge!  Hellion still hadn't refined his powers after Nimrod!  Surge was becoming a leader!  Pixie and Anole has just joined!  Sorry for the recap but I'm just really bummed that we didn't get to see more of this team learning to be a team!

The Young X-Men kinda bore me.  Between X-Force and this one, I'm really getting tired of feral people.  *sigh* I could rant more and more but it just doesn't seem to matter.

sfbluebeagle, Recent interviews indicate that the former members of New X-Men are going to be appearing in or joining the other titles.  So Don't lose hope for them yet.  I'm just angry that Santo is being used in this sorry book.  I'm going to miss the banter between he and Anole.

I want to know what happened between the end of Messiah Complex and where everything is now. People must have resisted Cyclops just saying he X men are disbanded or whatever. I Imagine the New X-Men resisting more than others.

That's great to hear that we will still be seeing the New X-Men.  I'd hate for them to end up in character-limbo like Husk.  I still think that they dropped some pretty spectacular momentum though.  I promise to stop beating the dead horse after this rant but the group-dynamic that they had would have led to some great and hilarious stories.  Tormented lovers (Surge, Prodigy, Hellion, X-23), funny pairings (Anole/Rockslide, Pixie/Dust), adapting to new powers (Prodigy, Hellion, Anole, Pixie).  They have a goldmine of stories.  I hope that they don't mess it all up.

Exactly.  People don't realize that Ink's character is more than likely MEANT to be laughable - even the tattoo artist calls him out on that in panel.  It was a well written premiere and I like the starting off in the action kind of concept - a harkening back to Giant Size X-Men #1.  Guggenheim is a decent writer, some people are just so adverse to change.

On another note, seems I was dead wrong in the "Old New Mutants as Mentors" prediction.  Perhaps this all the work of one of the Masterminds (resurrected some how).

I'm not afraid of change.  Messiah Complex changed a ton.  For the better.  This book just sucked.

I picked it up and like a bunch of other people, thought it was aright. Not good, not bad. But also like a couple others have said, i find no point in introducing THIS collection of characters. Its funny, Im usually all for new characters, but for some reason, this team just doesnt do it for me. I think that they should have A.) Picked a different cast of old New X-men. or B.) Came up with a whole NEW cast of characters. Yeah thats a little hard considering the decimation but i mean theres gotta be a handful of mutants not "metriculated" into the X-men mythos yet.

In a side note, i kinda feel like its about time that the X-men pull a Third Genesis. By that i mean, most if not all the current X-men go away and get replaced by a whole new team. Messiah Complex was certainly a shake up but in a couple months itll be the same old X-men again maybe just reshuffled a little bit. Cyclops will be with Emma, with Wolverine hanging around. Wolverine will make a comment, Cyclops will blast him out a window and Emma will be a b!+{# as usual.  Nightcrawler will be on a team with Colossus and theyll be throwing around "Mein Fruend" and "Tovarisch". blah blah blah blah. Over it.

sigh. Rant over.
